JSON Formatter & Validator
Paste API responses, config files or logs and get readable, indented JSON. If the JSON is invalid, the error message points to the line and column so you can fix it quickly.
Runs entirely in your browser. Your input and files are not uploaded to any server.
How to use
- Paste JSON into the input box, or open a .json file.
- Choose the indentation and whether to sort keys alphabetically.
- Press Format. Valid JSON is pretty-printed; invalid JSON shows where the problem is.
- Copy or download the result.
Examples
{"id":1,"tags":["a","b"]} becomes an indented, multi-line document.
A trailing comma such as {"a":1,} is reported with its line and column.

Check it yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, select the Network tab and use the tool. Your file never appears in an upload request. Once this page is saved for offline use, you can also disconnect from the internet and keep working. Ads and anonymous visit statistics, when enabled, make their own requests, but they never receive your files or text.
Frequently asked questions
Is my JSON sent anywhere?
No. Parsing uses the browser’s built-in JSON.parse on this page. Nothing is uploaded, which makes it safe for tokens and internal data.
Does it accept comments or single quotes?
No. Those are not valid JSON. The validator follows the JSON standard strictly, which is what APIs and parsers expect.
Are big numbers preserved?
Numbers larger than 2^53 lose precision in JavaScript. If your data has 64-bit IDs, keep them as strings.
