QR Code Reader
Read a QR code without installing an app. Upload an image, paste a screenshot, or use your camera. Decoding happens on this page. Links are never opened automatically, so you can check where they go first — QR codes are a common way to hide phishing links.
Runs entirely in your browser. Your input and files are not uploaded to any server.
How to use
- Choose an image, paste a screenshot (Ctrl/Cmd + V), or press Start camera and allow access.
- Hold the code steady and well lit until it is detected.
- Review the decoded text. Open links only if you trust the destination.

Check it yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, select the Network tab and use the tool. Your file never appears in an upload request. Once this page is saved for offline use, you can also disconnect from the internet and keep working. Ads and anonymous visit statistics, when enabled, make their own requests, but they never receive your files or text.
Frequently asked questions
Is the camera image uploaded?
No. Frames are analysed in your browser and discarded. The camera stops when you press Stop or leave the page.
Why is my code not detected?
Try a sharper, larger image with the whole code and some white margin visible. Very small, blurry or low-contrast codes may not decode.
Which decoder is used?
Your browser’s built-in BarcodeDetector when available, otherwise the open-source jsQR library bundled with the site.
